MY 5 WIVES

What You Need To Know:

Comic Rodney Dangerfield stars in MY 5 WIVES, a comedy that only stayed a week in theaters in 2000 and is now on video. Dangerfield co-wrote this movie, wherein he stars as a real estate developer named Monte (“Monty”) who buys some property in Utah to develop a ski resort. There’s one catch, however. He must marry the three widows of the deceased Mormon who owned the property. A Las Vegas gangster, played by Andrew Dice Clay, puts pressure on the local banker, played by comic John Byner, to get the property from Monte so they can put an Indian casino on it. Along the way, Monte ends up with two more wives.

As in his previous movies, Rodney Dangerfield plays a lovable hedonistic jerk who’s primarily got money and sex on his mind. His character, Monte, has been divorced three times already. He hesitates to get married again, until he sees how good looking the first three Mormon wives are. Although Dangerfield can be funny at times, most of MY 5 WIVES is a series of goofy jokes about sex, marriage, gangsters, and Mormons. This hedonistic movie also includes some brief nudity and foul language
