STRANGERS WITH CANDY

What You Need To Know:

STRANGERS WITH CANDY is a raunchy comedy about a 46-year-old woman who enrolls in high school after being released from prison. The movie is based on television series that aired briefly on Comedy Central. After a 32-year-stint in prison, Jerri returns home to learn that her mother has left and her father is in a coma. Hoping her presence will somehow help him, Jerri decides to complete the high school education that her imprisonment interrupted. As a student, Jerri encounters a series of misadventures with her new classmates, highlighted by her misguided participation in the school’s science fair competition.

STRANGERS WITH CANDY embraces the puzzling and annoying brand of comedy that equates humor with offensiveness. Racist jokes and sexual perversity are par for the course. Although the flick distributes its tastelessness broadly, many of the most biting jokes are aimed at Christians. One of the main characters claims to be a Christian but is also involved in an extramarital homosexual relationship and blasphemes constantly. STRANGERS WITH CANDY is a poisonous picture that lacks any redeeming qualities. With a very strong pagan worldview and an abundance of offensive material, this is an abhorrent movie.
