More Detail:
In Episode 3 of THE LONG ROAD HOME, Troy Denomy (Jason Ritter) leads a convoy to rescue the ambushed soldiers trapped in Sadr, Iraq. The other trapped soldiers are running low on ammunition. They need to find a way to get their location to the rescue convoy. Everything goes from bad to worse when the rescue convoy led by Troy is also ambushed by the Islamic militants. With many soldiers separated and on their own, how many lives will be lost before they can safely be extracted from the city? Meanwhile, the wives at home begin to prepare for the worst.
Episode 3, titled “Into the Unknown,” ramps up the action, making it sometimes feel like BLACK HAWK DOWN. It becomes apparent that many of these men aren’t ready for such a conflict and that many lives will be lost. While more intense than the previous episode, “Into the Unknown” has more foul language and not as much faith content, requiring more caution for viewers. That said, the “Into the Unknown” episode is still highly patriotic and shows how many of the soldiers abhor the violence that war brings.
