Gemma is doing very well marketing an upscale grocery store. Her love of food was very much influenced by Rosa, the woman she worked for when she was a teenager. When Gemma receives a call that Rosa has passed away, she’s devastated. Getting a letter to go to Rosa’s lawyer, she heads that way and runs into Max, who worked with her at Rosa’s restaurant. Max is now a Chef in New York City working at a Michelin star restaurant. He also was strongly influenced by Rosa and loved working with Gemma at the restaurant when they were teenagers.

When Rosa’s lawyer sits both of them down to read Rosa’s will, they find out that Rosa left the restaurant in their names. The only caveat is that they need to be married before they can take over the restaurant. Also, if they aren’t married, then Rosa’s nephew will get the restaurant and tear it down for an apartment complex.

Gemma and Max aren’t dating anyone and don’t know how they would be able to get married in three weeks, which is the deadline. Even so, they decide to give it a chance and try to find someone to marry within that time frame.

Gemma’s friend and roommate, Evie, decides to help her find dates. Gemma starts to go on speed dating dates, rock climbing and bungee jumping, but none of the guys seems very interesting. At the same time, Max also starts to date, with the help of his friend, Nolan.
