SONIC THE HEDGEHOG is a delightful action comedy based on the beloved video game character from another planet who befriends a small-town policeman to evade a mad scientist hired by the government to find Sonic, the source of a massive accidental power outage. SONIC THE HEDGEHOG is a funny, heartwarming, uplifting comedy about finding and helping new friends, but there is some action violence and light but brief foul language.

A SHAUN THE SHEEP MOVIE: FARMAGEDDON is another great, funny, heartwarming, delightful Aardmore Studio stop motion family cartoon, where Shaun has some adventures with an alien and his flying saucer. Now playing on Netflix, FARMAGEDDON is full of fun and fantasy that will appeal to all ages as well as clever science fiction references that will appeal to adults.

ORDINARY LOVE tells the story of Tom and Joan’s marriage as they suddenly have to navigate the journey of breast cancer together. When Joan is diagnosed with breast cancer, both struggle with fear and doubt, but love is what keeps them strong. ORDINARY LOVE is a well-written, beautifully shot movie and depicts sacrificial love through marriage, but there is some brief nudity, a bedroom scene and a subplot involving a homosexual couple, so MOVIEGUIDE® advises extreme caution.

DOWNHILL is a poorly executed comical drama about a couple, Billie and Peter, who undergo marital trouble while on an Alpine ski vacation with their children. DOWNHILL has some strong acting and cinematography, but many scenes are awkward and unnecessary, and the humanist worldview contains some strong foul language and lewd content.

FANTASY ISLAND follows five people who win the trip of a lifetime to an exotic island resort where their secret fantasies are brought to life. The enigmatic Mr. Roarke, who runs the island, promises them their fantasies will be granted, but the promise comes with a warning that their fantasies might not end how they thought they would. A bit overlong but well-acted, FANTASY ISLAND isn’t as scary as viewers might expect and has a light redemptive, moral worldview, but there’s lots of foul language, violence, occultism, and some references to marijuana, so MOVIEGUIUDE® advises extreme caution.
