For Alexa PenaVega, reminding herself of God’s love for her has become a vital part of her prayer life.
“God really wants me to remember how He sees me,” she said during an appearance on “The Upload” podcast. “So, a lot of my prayer life was always like, ‘I love You so much, thank You so much, God, I love You, God, I love You, Jesus, I love You,’ like really outwardly pouring out. But He really has been working on my heart in this season of like — like, ‘Hey, can you just remind yourself that I love you, too?’”
The actress explained, “So, when I wake up in the morning, or if I’m driving and my little prayer things go off, I also remind myself of like, ‘Jesus loves me, God loves me’….and genuinely, when I say that, I feel it, like, internally at my core.”
“There is something that goes on, because like you said, life and death are in the power of the tongue,” PenaVega concluded. “The Bible tells us that, and I don’t remind myself that I have a Father in heaven who loves me so deeply.”

The SPY KIDS actress previously spoke about the powerful role faith plays in her life, telling Fox News it was what eventually led her family to leave Hollywood. She and husband and fellow actor Carlos PenaVega lived in Hawaii with their children for a time before eventually moving to Nashville.
“Hawaii is loaded with young families who love God and are growing in their faith,” she shared in 2022. “Your kids are outdoors all day long. We’re not inside on our phones or playing games. We’re enjoying nature, getting our feet in the sand, the dirt. Kids can be kids.”
PenaVega continued, “I grew up on a ranch in Florida. We only lived there for a little bit before we moved to California, but some of my best memories are from my time on that ranch. The small time that we were there made such a massive impact on me. I always knew that’s what I wanted for kids.”
She also recently shared how her faith saved her from falling into the traps that many former child stars struggle with, telling Woman’s World, “I had a very strict mom in the best way. Our faith laid a strong foundation in my life.”
“I appreciate that she emphasized the value of who I was becoming as a person,” PenaVega continued. “She was always good at emphasizing what was actually important.”
PenaVega is one of many Hollywood stars who boldly proclaim their faith and encourage others to embrace a relationship with God.
