UNPLANNED released on DVD in mid-August 2019 and real-life Abby Johnson, whose story forms the basis of the movie, wants to give every abortion worker a copy.

“We want them to know that they are loved and that there is help if they need it,” Johnson told Faithwire. “Love is the only way we are going to end abortion,” she added.

Johnson’s compelling “conversion moment” inside a Texas Planned Parenthood radically changed her heart. She went from being a Planned Parenthood clinic director to a pro-life advocate.

Johnson founded the pro-life organization And Then There Were None that “help[s] abortion clinic workers leave the abortion industry.” Johnson is also a published author of multiple books including, UNPLANNED, which formed the basis for the movie with the same title.

UNPLANNED was a “best-seller” on Amazon before the DVD released and Johnson isn’t letting naysayers stop her from spreading the pro-life message to those in the abortion industry.

Johnson expressed her desire to Movieguide® that UNPLANNED would impact others for Christ at the premiere in March. Movieguide® of the impact that she hoped it would have on others.

“Redemption…means ‘newness’. I received a new heart in Christ when I took this step…. We all need it, that’s the thing, that’s what I think is so beautiful about this film,” Johnson said. “It gives all of us the opportunity to experience this conversion moment.”

Yet, Johnson’s approach to abortion worker is one of empathy and tenderness.

“When the movie came out, we sent tickets to every abortion clinic in the country, and we wanted to do the same for the film when it came out on DVD,” Johnson mentioned to Faithwire. Johnson continued, “We often send notes of encouragement and love into abortion clinics, offering workers a way out, and by sending the film into the clinics, we hope to throw a lifeline to workers who maybe need that extra push to leave.”
