Hollywood Uses Backwards Logic to Demand World Leaders ‘Reshape Human Society’

Many Hollywooders are taking a stand for world leaders to permanently “reshape human society” post COVID-19. Now is it wrong to want a change? Not necessarily, but these celebrities are a bit disconnected from the change they seek.

According to the Western Journal, “More than 200 actors, actresses and academics (including Nobel Prize winners) on Wednesday published the broadside in the French newspaper Le Monde demanding that world leaders and lowly citizens take the deadly, job-killing pandemic as an opportunity to reshape human society.”

The 200 some-odd actors signed a formal statement that speaks to their concerns. Cate Blanchett (MRS. AMERICA), Robert DeNiro (THE IRISHMAN) and Madonna were among the celebrities championing change.

The entertainers on the list aren’t new to promoting left-winged ideals, but certainly not the role models for putting their money where their mouth is.

Ironically, atheist and Hollywood comedian Ricky Gervais called out the backwards logic of Hollywood best. Movieguide® previously reported:

According to the Daily Wire, Gervais praised nurses and health care workers for being on the front lines every day. He said he never wants to “hear people moaning about nurses again.”

“These people are doing 14-hour shifts and not complaining,” Gervais continued. “Wearing masks, and being left with sores, after risking their own health and their families’ health selflessly, but, then I see someone complaining about being in a mansion with a swimming pool. And, you know, honestly, I just don’t want to hear it.”

Like some of these Hollywooders, Christians around the globe are hoping for lasting change. So, what’s the difference in these hopes?

While the world may offer many “ways” to give one’s life meaning, there’s only one Way that eternally impacts your soul.

In John 14:6 (NIV) Jesus says, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Whether it’s climate change, voting or some other concern, celebrities are spewing hate on world leaders in the attempt to tear them down to promote themselves and their beliefs.  There is nothing new under the sun, just as the author of Ecclesiastes states.

So please, Hollywood, while we all try to deal with the lasting effects of COVID-19, let’s not stoke the furnace of fear.
