Jada Pinkett Smith Says the Biebers Have a Successful Marriage Because ‘They Agree on God’

Jada Pinkett Smith, the wife of actor Will Smith, credited Justin and Hailey Bieber’s successful marriage to their mutual faith in God.
The pop star married Hailey Baldwin in 2018. The couple is candid about their faith, their struggles, and their ultimate hope in Christ has not gone unnoticed by fans and family.
During Pinkett Smith’s recent Facebook Watch series “Red Table Talk,” which she hosts alongside her daughter, Willow Smith, and mother Adrienne Banfield Norris, the MATRIX actress touched on the Biebers’ God-honoring relationship.
“They’re a beautiful couple,” Pinkett Smith said. “Not to say that they won’t have their difficulties, because they will. But here’s the thing that I love about how they started their relationship: They agree on God. They want to serve God, and they want to love God together.”
Pinkett Smith continued: “I think the reason why so many relationships are not working is that they’re steeped in self-gratification, and that is going to get you in trouble every time.”

While playing a game of Jenga on their Facebook Watch series, Justin asked his wife about faith.
“What is your anchor that keeps you pushing, obviously like our faith?” Justin added, “You and I have the same belief system. We believe in Jesus and His forgiveness and salvation, just that whole thing.
“Do you think that that’s having your anchor in your spirit? Knowing that regardless of what’s going on in the world you kind of have that security?” Justin asked.
Hailey answered, “Totally. Not only knowing that we have the peace of Jesus and we can lean on Him during this time and we can read the Bible, we can do so many things. We also have our church community that has been constant through this whole thing.”
For the Bieber’s, their faith essential to their lives, and others have noticed their example.
“Being able to share that with each other — to have that bond of faith and spirituality — is so [critical] for us,” Hailey told Elle in 2020. “It’s the most important part of our relationship, following Jesus together, being a part of the church community together. It’s everything.”
