Fans Blast Another MANDALORIAN Actress After ‘Likes’ on Social Media

By Movieguide® Staff

WWE star Sasha Banks, who stars as Koska Reeves in the popular Disney+ series THE MANDALORIAN, is under fire from enraged fans who found that she “liked” anti-vaccination posts on Instagram.

Banks reportedly interacted with posts on social media that questioned the safety of the COVID-19 vaccines and also joked about pandemic-related restrictions.

The post that fans referred to was a slideshow of memes that said that vaccines could sterilize people and that vaccine researchers bypassed animal trials and that “animals were dying.”

Faithwire noted that some of the claims in the slideshow are not supported by evidence:

It should be noted there appears to be no evidence to suggest any of the inoculations against COVID-19 cause problems with fertility. Furthermore, it’s untrue that researchers skipped animal testing during their trials.

It’s also possible Banks didn’t see these particular slides, which weren’t at the beginning of the Instagram post in question. There is no way to know whether the 29-year-old celebrity scrolled through every image in the post.

Shortly after Banks liked the post, fans condemned her for liking an anti-vaxxer related post, and media outlets questioned her decision to like the post.

MEAWW reported:

The 29-year-old WWE icon, who retreated from the ring for a while after her devastating loss against Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 2021, was ‘canceled’ by a legion of disappointed fans on Twitter. Banks was apparently spotted liking anti-vaccination content on Instagram, prompting people to immediately brand her as an ‘anti-vaxxer.’

While the WWE star is yet to issue any formal statement on the matter, she was lambasted all over social media by furious fans. Her anti-vaxxer stance sparked severe criticism, especially at a time when the world is grappling with a raging pandemic.

Bank’s is not the first MANDALORIAN actor to be called out by the media.

In February of this year, Lucasfilm and Disney dropped actress Gina Carano from the show over her conservative political views.

Movieguide® previously reported:

Although actress Gina Carano was fired from the Disney+ series THE MANDALORIAN over social media posts comparing today’s political divide to a similar culture in Germany before the Nazis came to power, several high-profile voices took a stand to back Carano and defend freedom of speech.

Carano is not shy about sharing her conservative views on social media and has received backlash in the past. However, this time Lucasfilm confirmed in a statement that Carano is “not currently employed by” the company and “there are no plans for” her return “in the future.”

The decision to drop Carano was met with praise from liberal fans in favor of canceling the 38-year-old actress. However, Carano is fighting against Cancel Culture.

Less than 24 hours after Star Wars dropped THE MANDALORIAN actress, Carano announced a new project with The Daily Wire.

“The Daily Wire is helping make one of my dreams — to develop and produce my own film — come true. I cried out and my prayer was answered,” Carano told Deadline. “I am sending out a direct message of hope to everyone living in fear of cancellation by the totalitarian mob. I have only just begun using my voice which is now freer than ever before, and I hope it inspires others to do the same. They can’t cancel us if we don’t let them.”
