Candace Cameron Bure Celebrates Bob Saget’s Birthday With Heartfelt Insta Post

By Movieguide® Contributor

Actress Candace Cameron Bure recently paid tribute to her TV dad, Bob Saget, with a post that celebrated what would have been his 66th birthday.

“I miss you,” she captioned a photo of Saget on Instagram. “Do I still say happy birthday? I don’t know how this works, but I’m celebrating you today however badly my heart hurts.”

Fans and friends left their support in the comments section, encouraging Bure to celebrate Saget on his birthday for years to come.

Author Kristine Carlson wrote: “Yes! Always celebrate the life of someone who lived and loved.”

Podcaster and writer Meagan B. Murphy shared her own personal story of grief, writing: “Always! I buy my Pop’s favorite dessert and we sing to him in heaven every year. I have always found celebration days to be the hardest when you miss someone you love. You’re in my prayers.”

Movieguide® previously reported on how Bure has mourned the loss of her FULL HOUSE co-star:

Candace Cameron Bure recently opened up about the close bond she shared with FULL HOUSE co-star Bob Saget, who died Jan. 9, 2022.

“It’s been a little over a month, and there’s days that are great and days that it just hits you,” Bure said in an interview with FOX AND FRIENDS.

Bure said that she still keeps in touch with Saget’s wife, Kelly Rizzo.

“It’s been difficult these past couple weeks, because of more things that have come out, and there’s a lot of questions. I’m trying, honestly, not to think about it, in the sense that I wanna remember Bob and what a kind and loving and amazing person that he was and let it be that,” Bure said.

In an Instagram post, Bure wrote:

Oh, Bob. Why’d you have to leave us so soon? We are all family, but you were the glue. The sticky, messy, squishy, sweet, lovable glue. My childhood is wrapped up in you, my formative teenaged years and the rest of adulthood. You taught me to feel deeply at such a young age. You were never afraid or ashamed to share your emotions, to cry, to love, to laugh and say it out loud. We’ve always been so deeply connected since the day we met when I was 10 years old. You weren’t just like a father, but one of my closest friends in life. This hurts like nothing I’ve ever felt before. I love you, I love you, I love you. You knew that. I knew that. But I have to say it again. I want one more hug. I want one more text that says, “oh, btw, it’s me Bob” after a long rant. I want one more laugh. I want to roll my eyes at you one more time. I want you to tell me to watch something but then tell me maybe I shouldn’t because of my faith. You were always so protective of me, and cared about everything. And everybody. You were the best. You were… Bob. There will never be another like you. I wish you could see the outpouring of love you have. You’ve certainly left a beautiful legacy in kindness, compassion, loyalty, generosity, and love❤️. I’m not saying goodbye because you’ll never leave my heart. Even with this gigantic tear in it 💔
