Family Band Earns Golden Buzzer on AMERICAS GOT TALENT with Dolly Parton Tribute

By Movieguide® Contributor

Contestants on AMERICA’S GOT TALENT are all hoping to score the coveted Golden Buzzer from the judges. One talented trio convinced the judges to break the show’s rules and give them the prize for their performance.

Chapel Hart, a trio made up of two sisters and their cousin, sang an original song, “You Can Have Him, Jolene,” a song they wrote in honor of their musical hero Dolly Parton. The song references Parton’s hit single “Jolene.”

The group won over the crowd; they were chanting “Golden Buzzer” after Chapel Hart’s performance.

Judges Simon Cowell and Heidi Klum said that they would have given them their Golden Buzzers if they hadn’t already used them. The judges, joined by host Terry Crews, then huddled up for a conversation.

On the count of five, all the judges hit their Golden Buzzers, sending Chapel Hart straight on to the live shows.

Other impressive contestants include Amanda Mammana, a singer with a speech impediment, and Svitlana Rohozhyna, a Ukrainian aerial performer.

Movieguide® previously reported on some other inspiring Golden Buzzer winners:

11 year-old Madison Baez Taylor wowed the judges and audience of AMERICA’S GOT TALENT with her singing, earning the Golden Buzzer after her impressive performance.

While filming the talent show, the audience members get the chance to jump onstage and sing during commercial breaks. Taylor, a contestant who got to trick the judges, went up and sang “Amazing Grace.”

The judges were shocked by her talent.

Howie Mandel turned around in his chair to get a better look, while Simon Cowell came back in from a side room after hearing the 11 year-old’s powerful voice.

“We do ask people in the breaks if they’d like to sing a song and I was literally just coming back in and I heard this voice, thinking, ‘Who…is that?’” Cowell said. “And then I see this little thing in the audience and it’s you.”

Taylor is a huge fan of the show and has been dreaming of competing on the show for years.

“I’ve been to many tapings, and ever since I was 4 years old, I would always try and sing for the commercial breaks,” the talented youngster said. “And it’s always been my dream to be on the show. And I’m finally here.”

After the judges were let in on the trick, Taylor climbed on stage and sang not one, but two verses of the classic hymn.

Mandel leapt from his seat and walked to the middle of the judges’ panel where he rang the Golden Buzzer, sending the pre-teen straight to the live shows.
