More Detail:
Using the Word of God, Dr. Jeremiah narrates the re-enactments of the Nativity Story. It begins with the Angel Gabriel visiting Mary and telling her that the Holy Spirit will come upon her, and she will conceive a son, whom she will call Jesus. Jesus “will be called the Son of the Most High” and “The Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David, and He will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever.”
When Joseph, Mary’s betrothed husband, heard about Mary’s pregnancy, he was all set to divorce her quietly. However, an angel came to him in a dream, telling him about the holy conception, adding that Jesus “will save His people from their sins.” At this point, Dr. Jeremiah reminds viewers of the prophecy in Isaiah 7:14, which says, “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel,” which means “God with us.”
The rest of the movie details how Mary and Joseph had to go to Bethlehem, Joseph’s hometown, to be part of a Roman census. It also shows how difficult it was for Mary and Joseph to find a room where Mary could give birth. Finally, the documentary depicts the birth of Jesus, followed by the visits from the shepherds and the wise men, with Dr/ Jeremiah summing up what the Nativity Story meant for the mankind and what it still means for us today. The ending includes a presentation of the Gospel by Dr. Jeremiah.
