Prayer App Partners with Colleges to Connect Students to God

Christian prayer app Hallow recently announced a new college partnership program, part of an overall trend among college-aged kids to seek out God.

“For young people searching and exploring, our hope is that Hallow is an accessible tool to find both peace and purpose in a personal relationship with God,” a Hallow spokesperson told Fox News Digital.

This tool has been made more accessible through Hallow’s partnership with several schools.

The company currently partners with the University of Notre Dame in Indiana, Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio and Benedictine College in Atchinson, Kansas, bringing the app’s premium content to the students for free.

“The Hallow App will lead our students, faculty, and staff to deepen their encounters with Christ in their daily prayer life. It will be another great resource to transform lives in Christ on campus,” said Megan Ryan, director of Benedictine’s College Ministry program.

“We’re honored to be able to support the University in helping students find peace and grow deeper in relationship with God,” Alex Jones, Hallow co-founder and CEO, said of their partnership with Notre Dame.

“More colleges are partnering with Hallow to bring Hallow’s extensive library of prayer resources to their campuses in order to support the spiritual lives of their students,” the spokesperson said.

The app provides users an audio library of Catholic faith-based content, such as prayers or meditations.

The content most popular among college students are “sacred music, daily prayers (like the rosary) and bedtime/sleep prayers—all of which are helpful to those grappling with the many challenges of being a young person navigating the world in 2023,” Hallow said.

According to Hallow, over half of all users are 35 or younger.

“Young people are not giving up on God,” Hallow CEO Alessandro DiSanto said. “They’re just struggling to find a way to search for him in a way that fits into their complicated lives.”

“Hallow attempts to meet them where they’re at, in the privacy of their own earphones, without making any assumptions about where they are on their spiritual journey,” he added.

The private, non-judgmental approach has worked, as Hallow has cemented itself as the number one Christian prayer app. It also recently breached the Top 10 in the App Store for all apps, hitting number 3 as Lent began, making it the first religious app to ever break into the top 10.

Movieguide® previously reported:

Hallow, a prayer and meditation app created by 29-year-old Alex Jones, recently reached the 100 million prayer mark worldwide.

Jones launched the app in 2018 and said that Hallow has 3.75 million downloads. Jones added that he wanted to connect faith and technology, mimicking apps like Calm but with a prayerful purpose.

“I thought they were super helpful tools to learn meditation within the comfort of your own home,” Jones told Fox News. “Every time I would meditate, my mind would feel pulled toward something Christian. An image of the cross, or the Trinity, or the Holy Spirit, which I thought was very strange.”
