TODAY show meteorologist Dylan Dreyer’s 3-year-old son Ollie appears in good spirits as he recovers from having his tonsils removed.

“My little trooper!! Ollie had his tonsils out this morning and was serenading me by this afternoon! Love you so much buddy,” the mom-of-three captioned an Instagram post with her son, who was all smiles and adorned in hospital attire.

Dreyer shares two other sons, Calvin, 6, and Russell, 1, with husband, producer and cameraman Brian Fichera. Earlier this year, Dreyer revealed that Calvin had been dealing with medical issues of his own when he was diagnosed with Celiac disease, an autoimmune disease that causes high sensitivity to gluten, which can damage the small intestine.

They finally received a diagnosis after seeking out several doctors. After they discovered the cause of his severe symptoms, they eliminated all the gluten in their house, and despite being a “huge transition for everyone in the family,” her oldest is “a thousand percent better,” the anchorwoman reported.

Movieguide® shared further details of Dryer’s journey to wellness for her son:

We were very concerned because we thought it was something much more serious because of how some of the results came back,” she explained. “You start Googling and thinking the worst, so when we found out it was celiac, I could say, ‘Okay that’s an inconvenience, it’s a life change, but we can manage that.’ We were very grateful.”

Dreyer has been sharing her family’s gluten-free journey on Instagram, posting photos of her food preparations.

“Just a little gluten-free dough prep for the holiday weekend using everyday ingredients…” she captioned a picture of dough, including ingredients like rice flour and potato starch.

Dryer shared with Hello! how much she loved being a mom to her three young sons.

“I never thought I would love it as much as I do. Being a mom is the best. I love fostering their ideas. I also somehow found more patience after becoming a mom,” she said.

Dryer and her husband didn’t plan on having any children initially but eventually changed their minds and decided to expand their family, she explained.

“We were living in New York City, traveling whenever we wanted to, doing whatever we wanted, and then suddenly it sort of came to us both. We were like ‘Let’s have kids’. Both of us obviously love it,” Dryer said.

Dryer opened up about her difficulty getting pregnant with her second child, Ollie, as reported by Movieguide®:

Dylan Dreyer, a co-host on NBC’s TODAY SHOW, announced she is expecting baby No. 2 after with the help of in-vitro fertilization after struggling with infertility for two years. Through the process, she said her faith kept her steady.

“A part of me feels a little mad at my body for not being able to do this naturally, but that’s why we have amazing doctors and that’s why I’ve got a great support system,” the 37-year-old said. “God has a plan and I pray every night ‘Just let me stay out of your way and you do what is best for us.’”
