Influencer Warns Parents About Satanic New Show Aimed at Kids

By Movieguide® Contributor

Influencer Britt Mayer is warning parents about a new Amazon Prime show and pointing them towards alternatives with moral content.

“Prime Video is really excited about the new series they’re bringing to your living room, starting this Friday,” she said in an Instagram video. “If you have Prime and you have kids, you’re probably going to want to know that this is now going to be an option for them to fill their minds with.”

She then played a trailer for HAZBIN HOTEL, an animated series that premiered earlier this month.

A summary of the show reads, “In an attempt to find a non-violent alternative for reducing Hell’s overpopulation, the daughter of Lucifer opens a rehabilitation hotel that offers a group of misfit demons a chance at redemption.”

The trailer informs viewers that Heaven’s angels frequently come to Hell to destroy the souls there, in an effort to reduce their power.

“That is the state of your living room entertainment in America 2024,” Mayer said. “Obviously, there are some solutions to this madness, and the first is to pull your Prime subscription and let them know why. Let them know that you’re not okay with this being entertainment.”

She then pointed viewers toward streaming platforms like Dude Perfect, Canon Plus, Answers.tv, rightnow Media and Pure Flix “that are actually providing something that is better than this junk.”

“They’re countercultural,” Mayer said of these apps. “We are chasing something different. We are not trying to go with the flow…the more we invest in the countercultural, the better those platforms can become. This is how we burn the bad and build the good.”

HAZBIN HOTEL is receiving negative reviews, with Variety calling it “chaotic [and] contradictory,” while The Daily Beast says the show “subsists only on superficial shock value.”

Movieguide® previously reported on Netflix’s now-canceled inappropriate animated show BIG MOUTH:

Netflix continues to push immoral and vile content. Recently, Parents Television Council president Tim Winter condemned the animated series BIG MOUTH as a “pornographic” cartoon that puts “millions of children” in danger.

“Netflix needs to be hit and hit hard for airing a pornographic cartoon series called BIG MOUTH,” Winter wrote in a recent press release. “It is the most utterly sickening ‘entertainment’ I’ve seen in my 40 years in this industry—and dangerous to the millions of children who view it or the adults who may be encouraged to act-out because of it.”

Winter continues: “Why do I say BIG MOUTH is the vilest thing I’ve seen in 40 years of working in Hollywood—and probably the most dangerous? First, it’s a cartoon. This attracts naïve, impressionable children. It also disarms parents, who are more apt to let their kids watch a cartoon. ‘How bad could a cartoon be?’ they will think.”
