In a powerful video shared by Allie Beth Stuckey, one prisoner’s raw and emotional testimony reveals how Jesus transformed his life behind bars.
His guilt, regret and hardened heart were converted into repentance, hope and a bold faith in Christ.
“Every time I think about what He did for me, it hurts me, bro. I’m so — ‘cuz I done so much dirt and guilt and this man’s dying for me, and I’m just really realizing what He done for me,” a prisoner said in a video shared by Stuckey, a Christian speaker and influencer. “And it breaks me down every time,” the man added.
“Because I was nothing but a ratchet sinner, bro. Nothing. I was doomed…If I didn’t know Jesus, I’m going to hell,” he said. “And everybody else is too.”

He says when he looks around, he just sees a lot of “dead bodies,” so he shares the gospel with them.
“Get with Jesus, bro. Come to class with me. Go to church with me,” he said.
“They look at me like, man, you trying to get me to go to church?” said the unnamed prisoner, who’s covered in face tattoos. “Yes, I am…Things change when…you’re with the Lord, man.”
He knows from experience that God changes hearts.
“I wouldn’t have been sitting here crying right like I am now [if it weren’t] for the Lord…It didn’t even matter to me back then,” he explained. “I didn’t care. but now the city will know what he really did for me.”
The God Behind Bars ministry shared an amazing video of a room full of prisoners inside of a maximum-security jail as many stood up, arms lifted up, singing, “Open The Eyes of My Heart.” This is just one example of many praise sessions that the ministry conducts in prisons.
“This prisoners took over the song and started singing. Such a powerful moment 🔥 This is what is happening behind the prison walls!🙏🏼” the organization shared on Facebook.
They also shared that they baptized over 70 men in a maximum-security prison. In a large basin outside, they dunked man after man in the water, cheering them on one after the other.
These testimonies show that God can reach even the hardest of hearts. They show it doesn’t matter what your past is. You can be transformed through Christ, the true giver of hope.
