What to Expect from This Year’s Super Bowl Commercials

By Movieguide® Contributor

The Super Bowl is just around the corner, and advertisers are already teasing what commercials football fans can expect to see during the big game.

This year, the Kansas City Chiefs will face off against the San Francisco 49ers at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada.

GOOD MORNING AMERICA compiled a list of some of the biggest ads the game will feature:

  1. Uber Eats Delivers Big Game teaser with David and Victoria Beckham
  2. Hellman’s “make taste not waste” Super Bowl commercial stars Kate McKinnon, Pete Davidson
  3. M&M’s enlists Dan Marino, Terrell Owens, Bruce Smith in new Super Bowl campaign
  4. BetMGM Super Bowl ad stars Tom Brady, Wayne Gretzky, Vince Vaughn
  5. Drumstick taps comedian Eric André for Super Bowl spot
  6. Frito-Lay Super Bowl commercial enlists football icons Gronk, Marshawn Lynch, Troy Polamalu
  7. Popeyes first-ever Super Bowl ad
  8. Pringles Super Bowl 58 commercial stars Chris Pratt and his bold mustache
  9. Starry and Ice Spice team up for Super Bowl ad
  10. Mountain Dew Baja Blast gets inaugural Super Bowl spot

Per NBC New York, “In recent years, advertisers have spoiled the suspense by rolling out their Super Bowl commercials ahead of the big game. Early releases and teasers help broaden a brand’s exposure, garnering even more buzz for a company. Experts say the strategy is getting people to talk about a brand’s commercial before the game in order to generate some early interest online, rather than risk getting eclipsed by a more viral-worthy spot on game day.”

Super Bowl LVIII is set for Feb. 11, and the halftime show will feature eight-time Grammy award-winning artist Usher.

“While the primary performer often has special guests help them on stage, Usher’s sidekicks have yet to be announced. The singer knows all about halftime guests, though. He performed at the Super Bowl in 2011 alongside the Black Eyed Peas,” Sporting News reported of Usher’s performance.

Tune in to CBS Sports on Feb. 11 to catch all the action.

Movieguide® previously reported on Pratt’s Pringles commercial:

Katherine Schwarzenegger just revealed that husband Chris Pratt’s new facial hair is part of a new role for the actor: the Pringles mascot, Mr. P.

“Now all of you get to find out the reason I’ve been putting up with @prattprattpratt’s intense mustache for so many months,” Schwarzenegger wrote under a series of pictures of a mustachioed Pratt. “It’s something I’ve come to know all too well and was present at far too many milestone moments. He’s the man behind the mysterious @pringlesmustache.”

She also revealed that Pratt will play the role in an upcoming Super Bowl ad, writing, “Can’t wait to see his commercial at the big game!”

Pringles released a teaser for the commercial that shows Pratt facing off with a Pringles can, as well as the ad’s drop date: February 11.
