Sadie Robertson Huff: ‘Anchor Yourself in Gratitude and Truth’

By Movieguide® Contributor

Sadie Robertson Huff is reminding followers to root themselves “in gratitude and truth” when they start feeling unsure.

“If you think you have to get something else to be happy, besides Jesus, you’re going to be searching for a long time,” she said in a recent episode of her “WHOA That’s Good” podcast.

Huff explained that it’s easy to feel unconfident about “the season you’re at” but pointed to her own children as an example of appreciating every chapter of your life.

“You really realize that, when you have kids — because, like, Honey — when I get a flashback from a year ago, I’m like, ‘She was a baby, and now she’s fully talking,’ and it’s just crazy,” she said. “But I’m like, ‘Man, I’m so glad’ — I would never look at one season of her life to the other and say one was better. It’s all so sweet!”

Huff continued, “So yes, you don’t want to believe this lie that in another season or in another thing or with another product that you could be more confident than where you can be now by just rooting yourself and anchoring yourself in gratitude and truth and contentment.”

Huff reminded us of the importance of standing strong in your faith in a recent speech at Liberty University.

“[Faith] requires you to follow God fully, not having one foot in with God and one foot with the world,” she explained. “If you’re worried about living in the fullness of God, the hard part has already been done. Jesus has already paid the price, and now you have the gift of the Holy Spirit, who reminds you of the heart of the Father.”

Movieguide® previously reported on Huff’s thoughts on putting faith first:

Former DUCK DYNASTY star and Christian speaker Sadie Robertson Huff highlighted the younger generation’s desire for absolute truth amid the chaos and polarization on social media today.

The 23-year-old author said she believes church leaders are not holding young adults accountable.

“I’ve sat in a room with church leaders who I love and adore. … But there are times where I’ve even heard them say things like, ‘Maybe we shouldn’t do a conference at night because that is the night that college kids like to party.’ And I’m like, ‘That’s why we should do a conference that night, because people are going to party if we expect too little,’” Huff said.

“Let them [decide] if they’re going to go with the world or if they’re going to go with God, because you’ve got to make that decision,” Huff insisted.

In addition to her podcast and work with her Live Original ministry, Huff is also getting ready to host this year’s K-LOVE awards along with singer Brandon Lake.

“Going to be SO much fun!!!” she wrote on Instagram. “I’m a big fan of christian music, books, podcast, and just good solid content in general going out into the world and I love that K-Love creates a space for it to be celebrated!”
