DIVINE INFLUENCER’s Lara Silva Found Acting When She ‘Started Seeking’ God

DIVINE INFLUENCER star Lara Silva opened up about how acting and her faith journey are connected.

“When I found my faith was when I found my passion for acting,” she told Movieguide® at the Movieguide® Awards red carpet. “And I know that God placed that in my heart and [let] it lie dormant until he was ready for me to feel it and see it when I started seeking Him.”

“So I cannot tell my story of how I got into acting without telling my story about God and finding him and how it all clicked for me,” Silva added.

Her movie, DIVINE INFLUENCER, is up for Movieguide®’s Epiphany Prize® for Most Inspiring TV or Streaming Movie or Program and the Best Television for Families award. Silva has been nominated for the Grace Prize® for Most Inspiring Performance for TV for her role in the movie.

Her co-star, Jason Burkey, is also up for the Grace Prize® for Most Inspiring Performance for TV.

“It’s a story about really connecting with other people and looking at how do we influence others in an age of social media and distance with screens and all of that, you know, so it’s, I think, a necessary movie for for these times,” Burkey said of DIVINE INFLUENCER.

Silva is also known for her work in THE CHOSEN, where she plays Eden.

“I was so honored to play [Olivia Golden in DIVINE INFLUENCER] because it was so opposite from the character that I play in THE CHOSEN,” she explained. “But the most important thing is that they’re both just life changing.”

“With the DIVINE INFLUENCER, it’s taught me to really be there for one another and to serve in person and not just focus on social media and the likes and the comments,” Silva added.

Catch Silva and Burkey in the Movieguide® Awards Broadcast on GAF on March 7 at 8 p.m. ET.
