Marvel TV Head Teases AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Return

It looks like AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. may have a comeback.
“We’re in production on DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN in New York,” said Marvel Studios Head of Television Brad Winderbaum. “They’re shooting as we speak. I’m seeing text messages come up from the set. [AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.] is probably the next show that [we’re] going to kind of revisit and revive…a really strong…and one of my favorite pockets of our universe and our fandom. And…you never know is the answer!”
“Television shows take longer to make [than movies], and if you’re lucky enough to have multiple seasons, there’s a conversation happening with the audience, and we’re able to explore corners of the universe that are really exciting,” he said.
AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. ran for seven seasons from 2013 to 2020. Screen Rant notes that if the series gets revived, it will likely be formally incorporated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s “official timeline.”
However, if the show returns, Natalia Cordova-Buckley, who played Elena “Yo-Yo” Rodriguez on the show, likely won’t be a part of it. She doesn’t want to be “locked up” in that role or be cast as identical characters.
“It was perfect for that moment but I really want to focus on the kind of stuff that THE PORTRAIT is,” she said. “I want to do a lot of indies. I want to do stuff that does craft work. I didn’t become an actress to be famous or make money and feel like, sometimes, those big franchise movies just turn into that. They can really lock you up as an actor with just those types of characters.”
“I had five years of doing a superhero,” she continued. “That’s enough for me. Someone else can take it over now. I’m profoundly grateful. It was perfect for me. It’s like that relationship you finish off beautifully and is everything it could have ever been.”
The AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. return is not official, but Movieguide® recently reported on some confirmed upcoming Marvel shows:
Marvel stated that its animated series WHAT IF…? will release around December 25… X-MEN ’97, another animated series, will arrive in early 2024…
Production for both IRONHEART and DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN is paused due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.
