JESUS REVOLUTION Inspiration Baptizes Thousands at Special Location

Pastor Greg Laurie, the inspiration behind 2023’s JESUS REVOLUTION, is still sharing the Gospel and bringing people to Christ.

He kicked off the annual Harvest Crusade at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California, late last month.

50,000 people filled the stadium as even more gathered outside and online to participate. Over 5,000 people gave their lives to Christ that day.

He also held a baptism ceremony at Pirate’s Cove, the same place he was baptized many years before.

“Baptism at Pirate’s Cove! What a great day! Glory to God. We baptized 2000 people!” Laurie posted on X.

“Pirate’s Cove, where we did our baptism today has a lot of memories for me,” he added. “Not only was I baptized here myself, but it’s the place where I gave my first evangelistic message. It was like a ‘sneak-peek’ of what I would do later in my life.”

His baptism is captured in the Teddy Bear Award® winner JESUS REVOLUTION. Part of Movieguide®’s review reads:

JESUS REVOLUTION is incredibly well made and captivating. It has many scenes with jeopardy and inspiring, well-written presentations of Jesus’ Gospel. MOVIEGUIDE® advises caution because the movie accurately depicts the drug scene from an impartial viewpoint that might attract younger children. The movie also shows Greg Laurie’s mother’s constant drunkenness and philandering. The immoral behavior is part of the true stories in JESUS REVOLUTION, which, to an amazing degree, have been made into an exciting, cohesive, uplifting movie.

Since giving his life to Christ, Laurie has continued to minister to others. In just the last year, he and his ministry have baptized 6,500 people.

“I see that God is working. As you know the last great spiritual awakening, the Jesus Movement, happened in California, and we’re praying, ‘Lord, do it again,'” he added.

He added on his Instagram, “I think this may be my favorite Crusade we have done in our 35 year history. At the very least, it would be in my top 3.”

Among those in attendance for the Harvest Crusade was REAGAN star, Dennis Quaid. Quaid talked about his personal relationship with Jesus and how it impacts his life. Movieguide® reported:

“The most important thing is to be authentic,” Quaid began. “I’m a Christian. That’s who I am…I have a personal relationship with [Jesus].”

The crusade packed out Angel Stadium, and Quaid could feel the Holy Spirit among the 50,000 people who attended.

“I could feel right now in this big stadium — can’t you feel the Holy Spirit right here, right now?” he said.

Quaid and Laurie continued to discuss the actor’s faith, specifically his role in I CAN ONLY IMAGINE, “a 2018 biopic about Bart Millard, lead singer of Mercy Me. Quaid portrays Millard’s late father, who was abusive before finding Christ and reconciling with his son,” per Faithwire.

Laurie felt Quaid should have been nominated for an Academy Award, however, Quaid is pleased with the outcome.

“I got all the accolades I needed for that…that’s the accolades that I really love,” Quaid explained. “I can see it in people’s eyes. I can feel it in their hearts.”
