David Fry became one of the biggest names in the Cleveland Guardians franchise last Thursday night.
Fry hit a “10th-inning walk-off home run in the American League Championship Series (ALCS),” Church Leaders reported.
After the game, he explained where he finds his confidence.
“All glory to God, ” Fry began. “I had a really bad first at-bat and strikeout. And I just told God, I said, ‘Take it, man. Just take the at-bat.’ I still don’t know what happened, but it ended up that we won.”
Later on, the athlete reiterated, “I just told God, ‘Hey man, take this. It’s a tough matchup. Just try to have fun and you take the at-bat.’”
Fry is among the many players in the MLB who have partnered with Jesus Won Apparel.
“David Fry of the Cleveland Guardians and his wife Rebekah recently lost their 14-year-old cousin, Seraphina Shaver, unexpectedly in an ATV accident,” the brand shared on social media. “All proceeds from David’s shirt will go to support the Shaver family during this sudden & tragic loss to help with medical & funeral costs. Please keep the Shaver and Fry families in your prayers.”
Off the field, Fry and his wife, Rebekah, share a baby girl.
For their daughter’s first birthday, the couple wrote:
{Happy 1st Birthday} to the precious girl that forever changed our lives. You are our sweetest blessing. Our angel. The light of our world.
While we can’t wait to see what your future holds and to see the woman you become, we also just want these days, months & years with you to slow down.
We love you baby girl, more than words could ever describe. Thank you for being you and for being so special. We are so proud to be your mama & daddy.
Thank you, Jesus, for this precious & perfect gift!
