ROCK THE BLOCK may be HGTV’s top show, but now that it’s in its sixth season, viewers may have noticed something interesting. In every episode, the contestants wear the exact same outfit.
Thankfully, the contestants are in fact changing and washing their clothes, but they wear multiple of the same outfit for the sake of continuity and editing.
Page Turner, who appeared in Seasons 4 and 5 of the show, previously shared the process in an Instagram video.
“I always see comments over the last three seasons of ROCK THE BLOCK, ‘Why do they wear the same thing? Is this done in the same day? This is a trick,’” she said. “No, it’s not a trick. The process takes several months, but we do have to wear the same thing for editing purposes. So, while I have everything here at the same time, I want to show you.”
She then showed viewers four different identical outfits in her closet.
Fans in the comment section responded to the revelation. “Lol! Ok, duh. That makes sense now. My mom and I were over here developing all sorts of theories about it during the season with David & Tiffany 🤣🤣🤣” one user said. Jenny Marrs also chimed in and joked, “The same outfit dilemma! Haha! I never want to see my shirt again from RTB!😂”
Turner isn’t the only show member who has been asked this question. Season 5’s Sarah Baeumler was asked the same thing in an Instagram post.

“Question: why are you all wearing the same clothes for all episodes?” an Instagram user asked last year.
During Season 3, Marrs responded to the same question in a Facebook post.
“The other big ROCK THE BLOCK question we keep getting: do we really wear the same outfits the entire six weeks?” she began. “The answer is yes! We all wore the same clothes the entire time. We each brought several shirts and jeans and did a lot of laundry.”
She added, “Outfit consistency is to help the editors out.”
Although the outfits throughout the seasons of show have been consistent, this season ROCK THE BLOCK is doing something new. Host Ty Pennington previously explained, “For the first time on ROCK THE BLOCK, returning veteran teams will clash with rookie teams who have something to prove. They’ll test their skills and push their limits for not only bragging rights but, more importantly, to leave a legacy on the block.”
ROCK THE BLOCK continues its history of consistency with outfits and being HGTV’s top show. Watch it every Monday at 8 p.m. CT on HGTV.
