THE CHOSEN’s Shahar Isaac shared his thoughts on his character, Simon Peter, as well as where the show is “going to go” from here.
“Who is Simon Peter in the story that we are telling?” he asked in a recent YouTube video posted to THE CHOSEN’s official page. “We start by seeing a fighter.”
Isaac explained that Simon Peter sees “a man talking to a crowd, [and] there is a sincere possibility that this person may be the person that came to save [his] people…from that moment on, we go on the road together.”
He remarked on the challenges Simon Peter faced as someone who was not necessarily used to following other people’s lead.
“Being part of a group is difficult for somebody who is an individual,” Isaac explained.
The actor also spoke about what fans can expect from upcoming seasons of THE CHOSEN.
“Everybody knows the end, right?” Isaac asked. “But I don’t think we could actually create an interesting story if we don’t go through each station along the way.”
Isaac continued, “I think the beautiful thing is, we don’t know where it’s going to go, and I’ve treated this show from the beginning in the same way — honoring the writers and what’s on the page and realizing that this is a world that’s being written and not already sealed.”
In an interview with Evangelical Focus, the actor said it was “easy” to take part in THE CHOSEN, explaining, “The strength and depth of the script grabbed me right from the casting. I immediately said to myself, I want to play this role!”

Isaac also talked about the humor in how many fans ask him how the show will end.
“Everyone knows the story, but many are intrigued and ask me how it is going to turn out,” he said. “That is the great thing about this series, the writers have been able to create an incredible world within the known story that generates so much interest among our audience.”
Amazon MGM Studios and 5&2 Studios recently announced that the Season 6 finale of THE CHOSEN will debut in theaters as a feature-length movie. It’s set to premiere March 12, 2027.
“Season 6 is going to take us longer to film than any season we’ve ever done, by far, so that, of course, then pushes the post-production process as well,” the show’s creator, Dallas Jenkins, said in a YouTube Q&A video.
He added, “We’re not owned by some big studio. We don’t have a billion dollars at our disposal to make all this work. We’re doing this, a lot of this, from scratch, and so it just takes time, and it’s very difficult. So please be patient with us as we get through that.”
THE CHOSEN fans can’t wait to see what the upcoming episodes have in store for their favorite characters — even if, as Isaac pointed out, they already know how it ends.
