A recent scare in her orchard reminded Carrie Underwood about God’s power over the devil.

Under a photo reel of a jar of pink lemonade blueberries, she began, “I went down to the orchard to feed Sugar and the sheep and thought I’d check to see if the pink lemonade blueberries were almost ready. Turns out, some were ready to be picked! What joy!”

“I love praying out loud in the orchard…it’s so beautiful and peaceful,” she continued.

But as the country star began to pray, she got a startling surprise.

“I was about 15 seconds into my chat when I was surprised by a snake in the blueberry bush. Just a rat snake…nothing dangerous. But he was there…JUST as I began to pray.”

The snake in the bush made the “Jesus Take the Wheel” singer think of the snake in Genesis 3 and how the devil lurks in our lives.

“It obviously made me think…about God…about the devil,” she said. “The devil is always there…watching…lurking…even when we feel at our closest with God.”

“Being a Christian isn’t a free ticket out of trouble. The world is full of evil…BUT God is with us,” Underwood encouraged her followers. “The snake and I kept our eyes on each other…but I got what I came for, finished my prayer and went about my morning…having faith that Mr. Snakey and the devil will both be moving along…out of my orchard and out of my way!”

Underwood’s message inspired her fans.

“Thank God we have Him on our side through the tribulations (and the GLORY) in this world 🙌🙏” one user wrote in the comment section. Another person added, “Love this! Thank you, Carrie Underwood, for preaching of Christ, and using your platform for the good. Thank you for your Christ album and for signing about Him any chance you get. Love you sister!! Thank you! 🔥 Love this!”

Underwood knows firsthand the struggles that come with sharing one’s faith in Hollywood, but she does it anyway and encourages others to do so too.

On AMERICAN IDOL, Underwood praised contestants Breanna Nix and Rylie O’Neill after they performed Brandon Lake’s “Gratitude.”

“I know how difficult it is to come into the entertainment industry and bring your faith with you,” she said. “It is a brave thing to do because there are a lot of outside forces that are going to tell you not to do that. I want to tell you that I’m proud of you guys.”

Underwood continues to be a voice of faith in the industry and is a great example of what is should look like to be a Christian in Hollywood.
