Last week, Christian artist Forrest Frank broke his back while skateboarding with his son. In a candid video shared on his social media page, the singer shares how calling on Jesus has eased his pain.
The most excruciating part is getting out of bed to use the bathroom, but he and his wife, Grace, have seen God work through the pain.
“Help me, help me, Jesus,” Frank began to pray in a video of him and Grace getting him out of bed. The singer grimaces in pain as he continues to say, “Help me, Jesus. Help me, Jesus.”
The video then cuts to Frank lying in his bed with a smile on his face.
“We just witnessed a miracle,” Grace, said.
“My back kept getting tighter and tighter and tighter,” Frank explained. “And I needed to lie down. But the transition is just so hard, and every time we’ve like fully focused our mind on ‘Jesus, let me body worship you.’ When we’ve stayed right there, it hasn’t hurt.”
“Every time we’ve done it, it’s worked,” Grace echoed.
“Like Peter walking on the water, we’re fixing our eyes on Him and can walk on water. But as soon as we’re not, it is treacherous,” frank concluded.
He wrote in the caption, “Every day I have to get out of bed to use the restroom & it’s excruciating pain…but Jesus has been getting us through it. Thanks for all your prayers. We’re gonna get through this!!! Today is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it!!!!”
He also used the experience to write a new song, “God’s Got My Back,” just days after the accident.

“Following God is kind of hilarious because I’m feeling thankful for my back breaking???????? Just a few years ago, I was depressed & at the end of myself…. now I have 24/7 access to unspeakable joy in every circumstance!! Drugs don’t do this, money can’t do this, nothing else…only JESUS,” Frank wrote following the song’s release on Friday.
The lyrics to his new song read:

While not something he wanted, Frank reframed his thinking and turned his broken back into an opportunity to praise God even more.
