Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt recently opened up about her marriage to Chris Pratt, saying she and the actor “balance each other out.”
“We do a really good job communicating,” she told PEOPLE. “It’s something that was really important to both of us from the beginning and continues to be really important to us as life gets busier and crazier, especially as you add more children into the mix.”
The couple are parents to Lyla, 5, Eloise, 3, and Ford, 1, as well as Pratt’s son Jack, 13, with ex-wife Anna Faris.
Schwarzenegger Pratt shared that she and the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY actor “balance each other out really well” as parents.

“He has a lot of strengths that I don’t have, and I have certain strengths that maybe he doesn’t have,” she explained. “We are a great team. I think it’s always keeping in mind that we’re a team and that we’re doing our best to tackle all the different things. We’re also very present in this beautiful season of life of having young children and getting to spend a lot of time with them. It’s such a sweet time.”
Schwarzenegger Pratt spoke further about her partnership with Pratt in an interview with Parents.
“Having a partner that you can openly communicate with and share your questions and your concerns about things and your journey through parenthood is a really important part of it,” she shared. “Keeping in mind that you’re on the same team and that your goal is that you both want to raise really good human beings is a really important thing in your parenting journey, and one that I think has been really important for me and for my husband — to be able to have that understanding of being teammates in this is a big thing.”
Schwarzenegger Pratt is currently promoting her latest project, a children’s book titled “Kat and Brandy.”
The book is “a heartfelt story — based on her own childhood memories with her real-life pony Brandy — complete with a letter to the reader about the bonds we have with animals that help us feel strong and confident, and sometimes even allow us to conquer fears we never thought possible,” per Penguin Random House’s website.
“If I have one child read this book and see themselves in it and feel that they’re not alone in whatever their fear is, and that they feel that now, after reading the book, they can conquer their fears, then this book will have served its purpose,” she told Parents. “I really try to focus on what my intentions are and what my hopes are with everything that I do and everything that I put out there.”
Whether it’s making sure she’s on the same page as her husband or encouraging kids to conquer their fears, Schwarzenegger Pratt is all about connecting with others.
