Get ready for Netflix’s “reimagined” SESAME STREET — the 56th season of the popular kids’ show is hitting the streamer this month!

“Season 56 reimagines SESAME STREET, inviting children into the action and bringing them hand-in-hand through high-stakes stories, powerful learning moments, and laugh-out-loud surprises,” Sal Perez, Executive Producer of SESAME STREET, said in a press release. “And, as always, SESAME STREET’s curriculum is designed to meet children’s most pressing needs — so our focus this season is on kindness and compassion, something we can all use more of today.”

The new episodes will be 30 minutes long, shortening them from the hour-long episodes used before 2016. SESAME STREET will welcome guest stars like Miley Cyrus and NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace.

A description of the new episodes from Netflix reads, “Throughout the season, SESAME STREET friends will explore compassion, kindness, and social problem-solving in ways little ones can relate to — whether it’s learning to take turns, cheering up a friend, or finding ways to solve problems together.”

SESAME STREET will also continue to focus on emotional well-being, as they did in Season 55.

“With skills like perspective-taking, listening, and cooperation, children will see how even tough moments can be turned into opportunities for caring, connection, and fun,” Dr. Rosemarie Truglio, Sesame Workshop’s Senior Vice President of Global Education, said in a statement. “We hear time and again from parents who want to give their children the emotional well-being and problem-solving skills they need to succeed in life. This season’s curriculum is designed to meet the moment for families, all in the joyful way only Sesame can.”

Netflix picked up SESAME STREET after the beloved children’s show was dropped from HBO Max.

“This unique public-private partnership will enable Sesame Workshop to bring our research-based curriculum to young children around the world with Netflix’s global reach, while ensuring children in communities across the U.S. continue to have free access on public television to the SESAME STREET they love,” Sesame Workshop CEO Sherri Westin said of the partnership.

The episodes will also air on PBS, the longtime home of SESAME STREET.

“I strongly believe that our educational programming for children is one of the most important aspects of our service to the American people, and SESAME STREET has been an integral part of that critical work for more than half a century,” Paula Kerger, President and CEO of PBS, said in a statement. “We’re proud to continue our partnership in the pursuit of having a profound impact on the lives of children for years to come.”

New episodes of SESAME STREET premiere Nov. 10 on Netflix and PBS Kids.
