“That’s a wrap on @wcth_tv Season 13!” Erin Krakow, who plays lead Elizabeth Thornton, said in a post to Instagram. “We’re proud, pleased and pooped. That’s a lot of P words. Can’t wait to share this beautiful season with all of you!”

“I love this! Cannot wait until the 13th season. Nathan and Elizabeth are tangled up together,” one person wrote. Another person added, “Cannot wait to see what you all have for us in S13.”
While Hallmark has not yet released an official premiere date, PEOPLE reports that the new season is expected to debut sometime in 2026, airing first on the Hallmark Channel before becoming available on the network’s streaming platform, Hallmark+.
Following the Season 13 renewal announcement back in March, Samantha DiPippo, Hallmark Media SVP of Programming, spoke out about the show’s enthusiastic fan base.
“Hearties are far more than a fan-base — they are a connected community, as loyal and supportive as the characters of Hope Valley,” she said. “It is an honor to tell stories of hope, resilience, humor and romance that continue to resonate with millions of viewers for twelve seasons and beyond.”
A synopsis of the series by Deadline reads, “WHEN CALLS THE HEART follows a cultured, early-1900s schoolteacher named Elizabeth who leaves her comfortable world in the city for a new life in a frontier town. In Season 12, love flourished between Elizabeth (Krakow) and Mountie Nathan Grant (McGarry) as they embraced the joy of new romance.”
What’s coming in the next season?
It will likely bring some kind of resolution to Elizabeth and Nathan’s story after they left Hope Valley to seek care for Elizabeth’s son’s diabetes.
“I am so excited that we got to launch them toward Cape Fullerton to literally put them on new territory, but they’re also very much on new territory,” Season 13 showrunner Joy Gregory explained of Elizabeth and Nathan. “Now they’re going to co-parent someone who has a chronic illness.”
Another exciting addition? Brooke Shields will make her return as Charlotte Thornton for the new season.
“She’s back and we are beyond thrilled!” Hallmark posted. @brookeshields graces Hope Valley and Season 13 of WHEN CALLS THE HEART.”
Movieguide®’s review of last season’s WHEN CALLS THE HEART reads, “The second episode of WHEN CALLS THE HEART, Season 12, is a fun, fascinating look at how the residents of Hope Valley deal with rapidly changing times. It contains a moral worldview, with Christian elements, such as one character referencing Deuteronomy 24:19 and another singing the hymn ‘It Is Well With My Soul.’”
Movieguide® notes that “There is no objectionable content in Episode 2.”
