Pop artist Mike Posner encourages his followers to push past “limiting beliefs” and do “what even you think is impossible.”
“My name is Mike Posner, and you may know me from my songs ‘Cooler Than Me’ or ‘Please Don’t Go,’ but what you may not know is that even after all the success, money, Grammy nominations, and fame, something was still missing,” he said in an Instagram video.
The singer explained that, in 2019, a series of personal losses led him to realize he was suffering from an “addiction to fame.”
To clear his mind, Posner “walked from the Atlantic Ocean, 2,851 miles, all the way across America to the Pacific Ocean.”
“The journey almost took my life and subsequently changed my life,” he shared. “When I finished that project, I wasted no time and started to train to climb Mt. Everest. A year and a half later, I did just that. But even though all of these accomplishments uncovered a stronger part of myself, there was still something missing.”

Posner continued, “The last three years have been the best three years of my life. Thanks to God, and a little help from Tony Robbins, I’ve cured my own depression, found the love of my life, and deepened my faith. So when one of my friends…started toying with the idea of doing one of America’s hardest trails, the 3,000-mile Continental Divide Trail, I felt torn.”
“Would I be able to do something this hard again when my life was going this good?” he asked. “Could I use love as a fuel instead of pain? I didn’t know. But here’s what I found out: the tough part of one’s self, the inner warrior, if you will, is more like a muscle, as opposed to something that gets uncovered once and stays active forever. If you don’t use it, you lose it.”
Posner explained that he found his “inner strength [and] inner warrior,” adding, “Nothing is quite like doing something that your own mind told you you wouldn’t be able to do. When you prove your own mind wrong, you start to not trust any of your limiting beliefs. And life becomes a lot more interesting.”
“So, if your thoughts have been telling you a negative story, don’t believe them,” he finished. “Keep going. You might just be able to pull off what even you think is impossible.”
Posner has previously reflected on the changes he has made in his life.
In 2024, he posted on X, “[I] don’t need to prove anything to anyone other than God [and I] love myself…relationship with God is on a whole new level.”
He continued, “i am the happiest i have ever been in my life and have sustained faith love and joy mindset for over a year and am not going back.”
In an Instagram post celebrating 2025, Posner wrote, “This year was FULL of blessings, expansions, pain that led to growth, and beauty. I’m just in awe and in gratitude that I get to be on this adventure of life.”
Posner has changed his life for the better and is now encouraging others to follow his lead and push themselves to do what they previously thought was impossible.
