The NFL Wild Card games made for some great football over the weekend, and one game even set a streaming high for Prime Video.
In a game that would seal their playoff fate, all-time rivals the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears took the field Saturday. The game, which was telecast on Prime Video, pulled an average of 31.61 million viewers, according to The Hollywood Reporter, “the largest audience to date for a streaming-exclusive NFL game.”
The Packers and Bears Wild Card matchup “attracted a +43% year-over-year viewership increase over Prime’s 2025 Wild Card Playoff between the Steelers and Ravens, which was also presented on a Saturday night (1/11/25),” Amazon MGM Studios announced in a press release.

While the Steelers-Ravens averaged 22.07 million viewers on the streamer — an all-time high at that point — the Packers-Bears beat that number by nearly 10 million. The press release also noted that Saturday’s game found its peak audience of 34.16 million between 9:15 and 9:29 p.m. ET.
“We could not have asked for a better game on Saturday, and very much appreciate our partners at the NFL who entrusted us to present such an incredible matchup,” Jay Marine, Head of Prime Video U.S., Global Sports, and Advertising, said. “Surpassing 31 million viewers and setting an all-time streaming record illustrates our remarkable growth in a relatively short amount of time. We’re thankful for all the fans who tuned in on Saturday night and throughout this historic season of NFL games on Prime, and will keep working hard and innovating on their behalf.”
Other playoff games raked in big numbers.
Fox Sports scored the biggest game of the weekend as the reigning Super Bowl Champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, faced off against Brock Purdy and the San Fransisco 49ers.
According to Fox Sports, 41 million people tuned into the NFC Wild Card Matchup. That game became “Fox’s most-watched NFL Wild Card game since 2015.” It also “ranks as the most-watched NFL Wild Card game on any network since 2022.” At one point, that game peaked with 47.7 million viewers.
On the other side of the division, the Los Angeles Rams and the Carolina Panthers garnered 28 million views in their wild-card matchup.
This weekend’s matchups look to bring in even more viewers as the Houston Texans take on the New England Patriots, the 49ers face off against the Seattle Seahawks, the Buffalo Bills play the Denver Broncos and the Rams go head-to-head with the Bears.
