Tim Tebow shared a lesson he learned from starting the Night to Shine event and revealed that it has become his favorite night every year.

“Most of us think obedience comes after clarity. In my experience, clarity often comes after obedience,” Tebow wrote. “When Night to Shine began, we didn’t have a plan. No infrastructure. No guarantees. Just a conviction that God was asking us to move. Twelve years later, it’s my favorite night of the year – and a reminder that obedience moves before it fully understands!”

Night to Shine celebrates people with disabilities and has had an incredible reach with over half a million attendees throughout its years as it has become a worldwide event hosted in 56 countries. The event has helped so many people feel valued and restores their understanding that they are made in the image of God.

“It’s incredible to see the joy and hope in the faces of our Kings and Queens as they step onto the red carpet at Night to Shine — that moment when they realize the cheers and applause are for them,” Tebow said ahead of last year’s event.

“For many, it’s the first time they’ve ever felt truly celebrated, especially by someone outside their family,” he added. “But that’s exactly why Night to Shine exists — to remind them of their inherent worth, that they are God’s beloved royalty, seen and cherished by Him every single day.”

Faith and the inherent value endowed upon everyone by the Lord is a significant focus on the event, as multiple parts of Night to Shine are designed for this purpose.

“It’s so much more than a crown or tiara — it’s a declaration of worth and love! We crown every Night to Shine honored guest the King or Queen because that’s how God sees them,” Tebow previously said explaining why every guest receives a crown.

Now that the event has become such a success, it is interesting to hear Tebow reflect on how it all started and how he was simply trusting that the Lord would use it, even when he had no vision for how impactful it would become.

“It doesn’t matter what language you speak — at Night to Shine, we speak the language of love,” the former NFL star said. “This night is all about showing every King and Queen how deeply loved and valuable they are. Thank you to every volunteer, church, and prayer warrior making this night possible around the world!”

Night to Shine 2026 is coming soon. It will take place across the world on February 13. Praise the Lord for this event and the way it helps so many people feel His love and value every single year.
