BOSTON BLUE showrunners Brandon Margolis and Brandon Sonnier say fans can expect to know the gender of BLUE BLOODS’ Jamie and Eddie’s baby this season.
When TV Line asked them whether fans will get to know the gender of the baby in the new season, the showrunners said, “Yes! Yes, we will.”
The next episode, Episode 10, comes out on Friday, which features Henry Reagan, played by Len Cariou.
Margolis said, “There are two reasons behind his visit: one is to connect with some old friends from the Boston Police Department that he knew from back in the day, so it’s an excuse for him to pop in on his great-grandson to see Sean in uniform. He does actually have an ulterior motive for coming to Boston that will be revealed in an emotional scene between he and Danny.”

The episode also explores a new part of the Silver family’s lives.
“We really wanted to establish the Silvers first. But now, especially coming out of the midseason finale, we’re fully embracing the Reagans as part of the larger Silver family,” Sonnier said.
“Episode 10 is very emotional. It offers closure to this chapter of the Silvers’ lives, but it also opens up new paths, new relationships and new directions moving forward,” Sonnier said.
Erin Reagan will pop in on Episode 17.
“As with everything in this show, it is through that case that we do dredge up some family issues,” Sonnier said. “There’s some conflict…and there’s some resolution. There’s the ups and downs between siblings that are all dredged up in the context of a case that brings Erin to Boston.”
Donnie Wahlberg talked to US this week about the importance of faith on the show.
“Faith being part of the show was important to everyone. The faith is different than Danny’s Catholic upbringing but we still get to see his upbringing and I think that’s really important too,” he explained. “It’s not the Reagan family sitting around the table saying grace but the fact that it’s still there — to me — is just as important.”
“Especially when it comes to faith, it says more to me about Danny and Sean’s faith that they’re honoring the Reagan traditions even when they’re hundreds of miles away,” he continued. “They didn’t abandon it. They stick to it and they respect this new family’s traditions while still honoring their own.”
Episode 10, “Hard Truths,” promises to be emotional and action-packed as it focuses on Jonah’s anger and grief as he confronts Ben’s killer. You can watch it on CBS, Feb. 27, at 10 p.m. ET.
