Popular Christian Twitch streamer Isaiah Thomas, aka Minister Zay, was hit by a car while walking from Pennsylvania to California.
The 27-year-old embarked on a 3,000-mile faith walk from Philadelphia to California in March 2026 to raise $200,000 to fund initiatives like HMBL University and a summer camp aimed at helping underprivileged youth.
On the 34th day of his journey, Thomas was struck by a vehicle during a live broadcast while traveling through Indiana. Authorities reported that he was walking along a highway while a supporter followed him in a Mazda. Another driver rear-ended that vehicle, causing it to hit Thomas, sending him airborne.
The 82-year-old driver who rear-ended the Mazda and their minor passenger were both hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries, The Christian Post reported.

Thomas also ended up in the hospital, suffering a sprained ankle, bruising and a concussion.
“From the video that happened, they’re trying to figure out how I’m still alive,” Thomas explained on Instagram. “The cop said, ‘I’m so happy that I’m looking at you like this and I’m not looking at you dead.’”
“A lot of people were joking, they thought it was a game, they think things was funny. I’m in the hospital. I’m not ending my trip. I made a promise to God, no matter what happens, I gotta finish it,” he said. “I don’t care if I crawl to the finish line. Things in life is gonna get inconvenient. Things in life is gonna cause you to give up. It ain’t gonna be all happy and smiles and blessings and things like that.”
He detailed the incident in a conversation with CBS News.
“From that moment on, I just felt something hit me from the back, and I just went flying in the air,” Thomas said. “It felt like everything was in slow motion. When I got hit, I just was thinking, I just hope it’s not over yet. It was a crazy experience, but I’m just blessed to not have major injuries.”
He added, “I want to be able to show the world that all things are possible. You just got to keep pushing…It’s a blessing to just have thousands of people watching every day and we are encouraging each other, praying for each other. So, it’s bigger than just a walk. It’s a movement.”
In Mark 16:15, Jesus says, “…‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.’” Although Thomas experienced a setback, he’s going to keep doing just that.
