THE QUIET PLACE stars John Krasinski and Emily Blunt bring their two daughters with them wherever they go.
When asked how he balances a career with two children, Krasinski said, “Honestly, the simple answer is ‘kids and family first. We always have done, luckily, a good job of doing one [movie] and then the next [one]. So one of us is always home with the kids.”
But they bring them with them whenever they can.
“We shot all of this in New York, A QUIET PLACE is in New York, and JACK RYAN was over in London,” he said. “They came over in London with us. It’s a circus! It’s a family circus!”
Blunt took a year off in 2023 to be at home with her daughters, who are now 9 and 11.

“This year, I’m not working,” she said at the time. “I worked quite a bit last year, and my oldest baby is 9, so we’re in the last year of single digits.”
She is always sure to be home for bedtime.
“Once my children start to find me repellent, once Mommy doesn’t reign supreme, I will do it, but I feel bedtime is this essential anchor,” Blunt said. “The 10-minute chats where they tell you everything — you don’t want to miss them.”
She shared in 2023 that it’s hard on her daughters when she has to go away.
“There are cornerstones of the girls’ day that I don’t want to compromise on – like, ‘Will you wake me up, take me to school, pick me up and put me to bed?’ And I just want to be able to say, ‘Yes, yes, yes.’ It’s such an exhale for me to be able to do that,’” she said.
In 2016, Krasinski said his life completely changed after he became a dad to two.
“I think the biggest question I have is, what did I do with my life before this?” he said. “What did I do with all the time that I had on my hands? I think it’s certainly a full-on job, and something that I enjoy so much, but I really do look back and think, was I just the dude who ate potato chips and movies all day?”
Krasinski thought he was prepared to be a dad, but when his first daughter was born he realized just how unprepared he was.
“You can read all the books you want ― I certainly thought I was prepared because I had such amazing parents growing up,” Krasinski said. “I just figured, I’ll just do exactly what they did.”
“And then you realize that moment-to- moment, you don’t know what they did because there is no manual,” he said. “There’s no exact way to go about things.”
As busy entertainers, it’s good to know that this celebrity couple puts their family first.
