The Pittsburgh Steelers’ newest signee, Michael Pittman Jr., made his public declaration of faith as he and his wife, Kianna, were baptized together at Traders Point Christian Church.
Pittman shared a video of the two being baptized together earlier this week and wrote, “Different chapters. Same gratitude.”
On Monday, Pittman took the field for the first time with Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The Steelers announced that they re-signed Rodgers for a one-year contract, as this would be his last year. Pittman described what it was like to be out there with a future NFL Hall of Famer.

“Even on the first day, I mean, he made a couple of great throws, and I was like, ‘Wow, like I’m really playing with Aaron.’ So, it was great,” he told the media on Monday.
Pittman also expressed that it’s going to take time to find a true connection between him and Rodgers.
“You just got to know what certain quarterbacks like and what they don’t like and what they’re thinking and all that. It’s going to take time,” the wide receiver said. “So, just getting to know him better and listening to the things that he’s telling us and just going out and spending more time, you know? I mean, this is the first day, so we have now up until our first game, so we are going to get as many reps as possible.”
Beyond football, Pittman is still in a period of transition.
“I feel like I’m transitioning well. Obviously, still getting moved in and getting my stuff over here. But everything has been great. I mean, the guys have been great, coaches have been great. Like just the people here, everything is going good,” he said.
Pittman is also experiencing a coaching transition from Mike Tomlin to Mike McCarthy.
McCarthy’s first message to the team was all about hard work and being safe.
“His message was just, ‘Hey, let’s get work in and let’s be safe.’ Obviously, because nobody’s winning football games now, you know, like get everybody to the football season, and it’s all about just getting work in and being safe, and like that’s our main goal,” Pittman added.
As he made his public declaration of faith over the weekend alongside his wife, Pittman is ready to build his foundation with the Steelers.
