Annie F. Downs already conquered the worlds of podcasting and writing. Now, she’s taking on TV!

“I’ve kind of always dreamed of doing TV,” she recently shared with Movieguide®, joking, “Who dreams of podcasting when they’re a kid? Because it didn’t exist when I was a kid. But I’ve always loved interviewing people…that’s why we called it I GOTTA ASK, because I’m, like, the nosiest friend you’ve ever had.”

I GOTTA ASK sees Downs sit down with friends and experts in fields that range from athletics to finance, getting their advice and having discussions.

“I wanted to sit at a round table with a handful of friends at the same time and let them teach each other, inspire each other, learn from each other, and [I] get to do [it] alongside them,” she explained. “Every episode, there’s an expert of some kind, a celebrity of some kind, and then, like, one of my normal friends [and] me, like two of us that are just normal people.”

Downs continued, “It’s been so fun to get these people together and watch them learn from each other, and get to learn from them as well, because that’s what’s going to happen as people watch it — they’re going to have their own lightbulb moments.”

In a statement provided to Woman’s World, the podcaster said, “I have always loved time around the table, sitting with friends, asking honest questions, and seeing what unfolds…My hope is that viewers feel like they are right there with us, joining us in this place where curiosity is welcome, faith is explored, and asking more questions is the norm, not the exception. No one has to have it all figured out, we just get to be together and share our stories.”

I GOTTA ASK is part of Wonder Project’s Prime Video channel. Tristen Tuckfield, head of content acquisition at Wonder Project, said in a statement, “We’ve been huge fans of Downs for a long time and are proud to bring her honest voice and perspective to our audience.”

Downs also spoke to Movieguide® about the role faith plays in her work and life, saying, “I have not experienced a map outside of faith in Jesus that has given me hope when things seemed hopeless, that has given me purpose when I felt like I was drawing in boredom, that had given me joy when the world was not joyful for me. And so, to me, that faith lens doesn’t exclude people from watching it through their own lens, but to me, the faith lens is the way to go.”

The first two episodes of I GOTTA ASK are currently available to stream on Wonder Project’s Prime Video channel.
