JEOPARDY! producers recently gushed about a new spinoff, POP CULTURE JEOPARDY!, and more.

“It’s going to be an incredible Season 2!” executive producers Sarah Whitcomb-Foss said about POP CULTURE JEOPARDY! on a recent episode of the “Jeopardy!” podcast.

The show will move from Prime Video to Netflix. Season 2 just finished filming, and it was reduced from 40 episodes to 20, due to time constraints, TV Insider reported. Colin Jost will return as the host, and there’s no premiere date yet.

“Two of the games were some of the greatest games ever played on the Alex Trebek stage,” exec producer Michael Davies said.

Season 4 of CELEBRITY JEOPARDY!: ALL STARS begins on Feb. 27 on ABC. There will be a new competition format with three returning champs: Ike Barinholtz, Lisa Ann Walter and W. Kamau Bell. The producers are already working on a new format for Season 5.

JEOPARDY! MASTERS has not been picked up yet, but the producers say its “looking really good.”

The producers teased a new sports-related spinoff.

“Close observers of my body of work will know that I am a massive sports fan and bringing a sports version of JEOPARDY! to the air, to streaming is probably my biggest New Year’s hope,” Davies said.

JEOPARDY! INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT could air during the Olympics and will have 18 contestants. The top two winners will advance to the MASTERS.

Something unusual happened on JEOPARDY! recently. A contestant, Stella Trout, who played in the Champions Wildcard tournament, was given a second chance after she lost her game when she answered a question in the Making Conversations category.

The producers reversed their decision about her answer and decided that she had answered the question right after all — and it was even more correct than the show’s answer, Pop Culture reported.

“We had a very interesting conversation with Stella during Jeopardy! Honors. I think we took her completely by surprise, in which we informed her that we are always looking at our material in the research room,” Davies said. “She gave us a response during that last Daily Double that made us think. We went back and looked at it, and we have decided that we ruled incorrectly.

They told her she will be eligible to compete in the 2027 Tournament of Champions.

“The contestant gave a response that is closer in accuracy than the one on the script,” Davies explained. “So, we look at these things all the time, and most of the time we are right, but to be a strong television program, to be a place where we can all agree about facts, we have to hold ourselves to a high standard.”

The next episode of JEOPARDY!, the 2026 Tournament of Champions Quarterfinal Game 3, comes out today, on Jan. 21 on local stations.
