Why AMERICA’S SWEETHEARTS’ Reece Weaver Dances ‘for an Audience of One’

AMERICA’S SWEETHEARTS: DALLAS COWBOYS CHEERLEADERS star Reece Weaver is “dancing for an audience of One.”

She landed a spot on the team last August, saying that her prayer for her time with the Cowboys is to be “a living testament to people across the world to chase after your dreams.”

“Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and live securely,” she posted, quoting Psalm 37:3-4. “Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.”

“Over the past 2 months, this has been my prayer,” Weaver added. “Wherever I go, and whatever I do, may it bring Him glory and shape me into the Reece God has made me to be. God is so faithful and His goodness has been so evident.”

“I have been covered with so much love, support, and encouragement from so many people. Every text, message sent, and call I have received, has made my heart flood with thankfulness,” she wrote. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of my family, friends, instructors, mentors, and teachers who’ve played a significant role in my life. Each of you have helped shape me into the Reece I am today.”

“God’s timing, plans, and His purpose for your life, is greater than anything you can imagine. All you have to do is allow God to use you?,” she concluded.

Weaver’s rookie season with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders was documented in AMERICAN SWEETHEARTS. Deseret News reports that she “talks openly about her Christian faith during the documentary, noting that she wants her cheerleading to bring fans closer to God.”

“I pray that whoever watches this one day sees [God] and not me,” she told producers.

Her position on the team gives her the opportunity to inspire others. Most recently, she spoke at the Student Leadership University seminar in Orlando, Florida.

“We are so grateful for the opportunity to teach students to dream big for the glory of God while celebrating an example of how God has used the dreams of people that have come through SLU before,” SLU wrote on social media. “All glory be to God for the dreams that He has given!

“Thank you @reece_christinee for taking the time to encourage students to dream big,” the post concluded.

Movieguide® previously reported on another Dallas Cowboys cheerleader:

Dallas Cowboys cheerleader and AMERICA’S SWEETHEARTS star Claire Wolford says being part of the iconic cheer team has made her faith “so much stronger.”

“I never thought [cheerleading] was something I wanted to do,” she explained in an episode of the “Happy and Healthy” podcast. “The sports-entertainment world was not even on my mind.”

Wolford was more interested in commercial dancing and planned to move to New York or Los Angeles. However, as her college graduation got closer, she started to rethink things.

“One day I feel like I just had a heart change on it, and I was like, ‘Okay, you need to do something that’s going to impact other people, too…you’ve been given this gift, but how are you going to use it to serve God and others?’” she said.

After “praying for a long time” and talking to friends who suggested trying out for the Cowboys cheer team, Wolford decided to audition.
