Thousands of people gave their lives to Christ during a series of concert dates Brandon Lake played in his hometown of Charleston, South Carolina.

“Thousands gave their lives to Jesus last night, and hundreds immediately responded through baptism,” he posted on Instagram. “What a dream, and what a gift. THIS IS WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT!”

Lake explained that his wife Brittany had a dream about conducting baptisms at the Charleston shows. The couple worked together to bring that dream to life, bringing cattle troughs to the venue and baptizing people after the show.

Additionally, thousands of people raised their hands to accept Christ during the concerts.

“If you prayed that prayer, it’s the best decision you could ever make,” Lake told the crowd. “The last thing I’m going to tell you — it’s really important and I wished somebody would have told me this when I was young — at some point, a Christian is going to hurt you.”

He continued, “It’s because they’re not perfect. I’m not perfect. You’re not perfect. Church ain’t perfect, because we all go there. But God will never let you down. You got to keep trusting people [and] keep moving forward.”

The shows, which took place at Charleston’s Credit One Stadium, included guest appearances from Nick Jonas, country duo Dan + Shay and former Hillsong United member William Hastings.

In an Instagram video, Lake shared that he had actually tried to play Credit One Stadium years before, but the venue turned him down, as they didn’t think he could draw a big enough crowd.

“They actually emailed back and they said, ‘I think we’re too big for you right now,’” he recalled. “So they made me a mug. On one side, it has the email that says, ‘We’re too big for you at this moment,’ and the other side was a drone photo of a sold-out crowd. Now we’re doing it twice.”

Lake added, “This is crazy. This hits different in the hometown.”

“Really can’t put into words what God has done, and beyond excited for what He’s about to do this weekend,” the artist captioned the video.

Between getting to play his hometown and baptizing hundreds of people, Lake’s recent set of shows were definitely rewarding!
