Christy Miller author Robin Jones Gunn just dropped an exciting update about a possible TV series inspired by the books.

“When you get to work with people you adore and deeply admire, it’s a gift.  I’m feeling blessed as I think about all we accomplished this week,” Gunn posted on Instagram earlier this week.

“We are moving forward on preliminary steps for the Christy Miller film/TV project,” she continued. “Many baby steps. Many prayers. Many more meetings to go. I loved hearing in your comments in my post last week that many of you are praying along with us. Thank you! Don’t stop!”

The Christy Miller series is compiled of 12 books and follows the journey of the titular young teenage girl, Christy Miller.

“It all starts the summer Christy turns 15. She leaves Wisconsin and spends her vacation with her wealthy aunt and uncle in Newport Beach, California. That’s where she meets Todd, the surfer with the screaming silver blue eyes who changes her life forever. Find out what happens when Christy’s parents make an announcement that puts Christy in a new high school at the start of her sophomore year,” a synopsis of the first book reads. “As these memorable years unfold, Christy and her ‘peculiar treasure’ friends draw close to each other in the good times and the bad. Love grows and hearts are knit together for eternity.”

A few weeks ago, Gunn wrote about the possibility of a TV series or movie.

“Waiting for the Balboa Island ferry and thinking, praying, waiting for doors to open for Christy and her Forever Friends to come alive on the screen,” she said. “So many meetings. So many steps. So many prayers. What are your thoughts in a Christy Miller streaming series?”

Her fans responded with enthusiasm.

“That would be amazing! 🙌” one person wrote. Another fan said, “12 year old me would be crying in excitement of Christy on the screen, and so would 26 year old me!! 😭❤️”

Miller’s series spunoff into into Christy and Todd: The College Years and Christy and Todd: The Married Years. Christy’s friends Sierra and Katie also got their own series. Gunn continues to write inspirational stories today.

Her latest book, By the Sea, released on May 20. The book is a compilation of “poignant, humorous, and heartwarming stories inspired by the beach, along with poems, quotes, and Scripture verses to help take your mind off whatever is burdening you and bring your focus back to God.”

“Oh my heart! Look how my new gift book turned out. 🥰 Crafted with much love for all my fellow lovers of all things beach-ocean-sunsets-seaside,” Gunn said in March, announcing the book.

Gunn and all her Christy Miller fans hope the beloved books make it to the screen soon.
