Creating Positive Content Fuels This GAF Star

Great American Family star Cameron Mathison is passionate about creating uplifting content for his fans.
“I know and love…making these great projects and also celebrating beautiful television and film that promotes, like, virtue and good stuff in the world,” he told Movieguide® at the 32nd Annual Movieguide® Awards gala. “Positivity and love and compassion and kindness and respect and faith. To me, that gives me energy.”
When asked what his favorite movie of all time is, Mathison responded by mentioning a wholesome classic.
“A movie like FORREST GUMP…I know we got Gary Sinise here, but there’s something so naive and kind and simple and virtuous about that character, that story,” he explained. “It’s very inspiring,…that’s a beautiful [movie].”

The actor wants to see “more positivity” in the movie industry and believes its important for films to encourage viewers to make the right decision, even when it’s hard.
“Making the choice that will benefit others and be the good choice…is often times the hard choice, or the easy choice, which is just to kind of like, pick the shortcut or hurt somebody or whatever. And I think…I would love more influence to like teach people that like making choices based out of love, based out of compassion, based out of kindness and generosity and respect and selflessness is the way to go.”
At last years Movieguide® Awards, Mathison said he’s “all about” creating “family-friendly, positive, inspiring, upbeat content,” which makes his partnership with GAF even more impactful.
“It is very important to me to create well-crafted, beautiful stories,” he said when he announced his multi-picture deal with GAF. “I am grateful to be back at Great American Media and to collaborate with some of the best creative teams in entertainment to make heartwarming content everyone can enjoy.
