Daddy Yankee and Don Omar End Feud: ‘Always Room For Forgiveness’

By Movieguide® Contributor

Reggaeton artists Don Omar and Daddy Yankee have officially put their feud to rest.

“Two dreamers, two tireless that we became role models for children, young people, adults and those who saw us from the age of three begin to change the world from our beloved Puerto Rico,” Omar captioned a photo of the pair.

He discussed what might have “distanced” the pair, pointing to “bad talk that corrupted good manners” and “above all lack of God in our hearts.”

Daddy Yankee posted a similar message of forgiveness, writing, “Today I feel at ease knowing that was left behind, and we are an example that we can have differences, but there will always be room for forgiveness.

“In this new stage of my life it is important for me to share my testimony with you and that my message is not just in words, but in actions, which are the greatest example of what Jesus does with our lives,” he continued. “I feel calm and at peace, knowing that today we leave behind the controversies between two exponents that put our Puerto Rico flag high. I hope our last round is against the enemy of souls, fighting together in the army of the Lord! Waiting for you on this side! God bless you and your family and all your faithful followers.”

The end of Omar and Daddy Yankee’s fight comes after news of Daddy Yankee’s new commitment to his faith.

During a speech at a recent concert, he said, “Tonight I acknowledge that Jesus lives for me — and I will live for him,” adding, “All of the tools that I have within my power — like music, social media, my platform, the mic, everything that God gave me is now for him.”

Movieguide® previously reported on Daddy Yankee’s new dedication to spreading Christianity:

During the final concert on his farewell tour, Latino musician Daddy Yankee shared that he is now devoting his talents to furthering Christ’s kingdom.

“Tonight, I recognize, and I am not ashamed to tell the whole world that Jesus lives in me and that I will live for him,” he declared to fans.

“This is the most important day of my life, and I want to share it because it’s not the same living a life with success than a life with purpose,” Yankee continued. “For many years, I’ve tried filling a void in my life that no one could fill.”

“I tried finding a purpose. On many occasions, it seemed as if I was happy, but something was missing for me to feel complete,” he continued. “I have to confess that those days are over and someone was able to fill that void that I felt for a long time. I realized that for everyone, I was someone, but I was no one without Him.”

“Throughout the years, I was able to travel the world, win many awards, applaud and praise, but I realized something that’s in the Bible: ‘For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his soul?’” the singer noted, quoting Mark 8:38.

“A chapter has ended, but a new one will begin,” Yankee added. “All the tools that I have in my power, like music, social media, platforms, a microphone, everything that God has given me is now for his kingdom. Thank you, Puerto Rico, and I hope you walk with me in this new beginning and I hope you remember something important: Don’t follow any person. I am human. To all the people who follow me, follow Jesus Christ. He’s the way, the truth, and the life.”
