Danny Gokey shared why we don’t have to be afraid — because God is faithful.
“So many times we feel stuck. We feel afraid. We’re scared of tomorrow,” Gokey said in a social media video.
“We don’t know what’s gonna happen. But I wanna remind you God has the answer. If you’re fearful, God’s not,” the AMERICAN IDOL alumni explained.
He explained that whatever you’re feeling, God’s not, and He remains steady, unchanged and able to change any circumstance.
He shared an excerpt from his song, “God’s Not.” Some of the lyrics are:
He’s been nothing but faithful
Why would you think He’d stop now? (now)
He will always be able
Of anything but letting you down (down)
Forget about what those thoughts say
Forget about all the heartbreak
You’re not alone
And deep down you know
That He will leave you never
No matter what fear has told ya
Your story is far from over
He knows the end from the beginning
He’ll bring you through whatever

Gokey always tries to encourage and lift others’ spirits. His mission is emphasized in his song, “Love God, Love People.”
He recently asked each of his kids what Biblical encouragement they would give to someone who’s having a bad day.
“That Jesus loves them,” his oldest, Daniel, said in an Instagram video.
“Pray,” his daughter, Victoria, said, adding that she’d share John 3:16.
“Okay, what advice would YOU or YOUR kids give to someone having a bad day? 😆” Gokey captioned the video. “I mean, of course, #1 is knowing God that loves you more than you could EVER imagine 🙌 Believing that He will work ALL things for good is a great #2! 👏🏻 Now, off to do some Bible study with my kids … 😜”
Through all his encouragement, Gokey knows from experience that there is purpose in pain.
He recently shared, “Our trial today is training ground for tomorrow, and you’re going have a testimony that’s going heal people. Your scars will still speak, and your story will still heal and your destiny, listen, it’s still in motion.”
Through everything that Gokey’s experienced, he’s been reassured knowing that God is holding him up.
“One thing that has probably made me the most stable in my relationship is knowing that I’m unconditionally loved,” he said.
Gokey’s right. It’s important to remember that you are loved and you don’t need to be afraid. God is with you.
