Famous Quarterback Encourages Students to Bring Their Bibles to School

By Allyson Vannatta, Contributing Writer

New Orleans Saints Quarterback Drew Brees wants the Word of God to flood school hallways next month.

It’s all part of Bring Your Bible to School Day, Thursday, Oct. 3.

“I want to encourage you to live out your faith on ‘Bring Your Bible to School Day’ and share God’s love with friends,” said Brees.

He continued, “One of my favorite verses in the Bible is 2 Corinthians 5:7, ‘For we live by faith, not by sight.’”

Since 2014, students have brought their Bibles to school each fall as part of the event.

“The event is designed to empower you as a student to express your belief in the truth of God’s Word – and to do so in a respectful way that demonstrates the love of Christ,” the website states.
