MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE star-turned-NASCAR driver Frankie Muniz returned to the legendary Daytona Speedway, ready to prove himself on the racetrack.
“10th Place finish last night at Daytona in the first race of my full-time NASCAR season! I was screaming! The @netflix The Electric State car was looking sharp,” he posted on Instagram along with photos of the event after the race.
Fox Sports reported that the 10th place finish marked Muniz’s best in his racing career. He said he “couldn’t ask for anything better.”
“I know I have to prove myself here,” Muniz added. “Last year, I didn’t have the opportunity to do that. And not that this fully does that. This is great. This is a step. Hopefully, I earn respect.”
Racing on the Daytona Speedway is a dream come true for the actor.
“It really is hard to explain, but, you know, I’ve been here a lot of times now as a fan, but then now also driving. But when you come in the tunnel and you just enter the track, you get chills. You know, when you see the grandstands, and you see the world center of racing up on the on the top, and you know, has such history, and it means so much people to win here,” Muniz told Fox News.

Though a lot can go wrong, Muniz isn’t afraid of the high speeds.
“There’s going to be accidents, there’s going to be crashes. A lot of them are usually out of your control,” he admitted. “I mean, that doesn’t hinder me at all from showing up at the racetrack to get after it today. I’m super excited to be back racing with Ford and in the truck series and full-time. So I really know I’m going to be every single week, and I’m just prepared to do the best I can do.”
Ultimately, Muniz’s goal is to win the Craftsman Truck series.
“When you show up at the racetrack, it is to be the fastest, to be the best, and that’s what I’m going to try to do,” the race car driver said. “You know, I know it’s going to be really tough, incredible competition in the Craftsman Truck series, but I am more prepared now than I’ve been for any going into any season. You know, I’ve had a long time to know where I’m going to be, and working with the team and in the simulator, doing everything I can to prepare and I’m ready to show what we got.”
