The lineup includes seven new features.
1. Movieguide® recently reported on the first film, “LEARNING TO LOVE: “Harry (Philip Boyd) and his two daughters lost their faith and have struggled to connect since losing their mom. But when they are faced with the prospect of a new nanny, they are pleasantly surprised by the arrival of Steph (Ina Barrón), who floods their home and hearts with warmth, positivity and faith.” A Pure Flix original, this movie will premiere on cable TV Saturday, September 2.”
2. LOVE CAN SURPRISE YOU will premiere Saturday, September 9, and stars Camilla Belle and David Lafontaine. Dory Jackson with PEOPLE wrote, “Carina (Belle) writes a popular love and romance relationship column and is known as an expert in her field. When her boyfriend breaks up with her on the night she thought he’d propose, Carina begins questioning if she actually knows anything about love. Enter new writing partner Liam Snyder (Lafontaine), who ends up helping Carina rewrite her love story.”
3. CRAFT ME A ROMANCE stars Jodie Sweetin and Brent Bailey. The film will make its TV debut on Saturday, September 16. A synopsis of the film reads, “Nicole Borden, the owner of a quaint arts and crafts store ‘The Crafty Companion,’ is faced with an ultimatum when the owner of ‘Mitchell’s Art and Craft Supplies’ tells her she must either sell her store or be forced out of business.”
4. On Saturday, September 23, the movie HAVEN’T MET YET, starring Merritt Patterson and Joshua Sasse, will debut. “A professional matchmaker must choose between her job and her heart when she falls for a client,” the synopsis reads on the Great American Family website.
5. A HARVEST HOMECOMING tells the story of “teacher Drew Granger (Donovan), who accepts a temporary substitute job in his old hometown of Chestnut Hollow, Texas, where he meets Aiden, the proverbial new kid at school, desperate for a caring friend. While he would rather have taken a job anywhere else, Drew reconsiders Chestnut Hollow when he meets Lainie Abbott (Lowndes), the new manager of his parents’ massive apple orchard and cider mill business, and more importantly, Aiden’s mom.” A HARVEST HOMECOMING will air September 30.
6. SWING INTO ROMANCE premieres October 7 and features Danica McKellar and David Haydn-Jones. In this highly anticipated film, “former dancer Christine Sims (McKellar) temporarily returns to her hometown in time for the town’s Fall Festival, [and] she discovers her family’s General Store is in trouble. In her efforts to save the business, Christine will need to dust off those dancing shoes one more time, face her ex-fiancé, and maybe even find love.”
7. MYSTERY BY THE BOOK will premiere Sunday, October 14. In this film, “A bookstore owner (Alicia Dea Josipovic) starts an antagonistic relationship with a book cover model (Corey Sevier) until an antique key found in a false book unlocks a mystery and perhaps a new romance.”
Viewers can tune into the “Great American Autumn” event beginning September 2 and follow along weekly to catch all seven movies.
Movieguide® recently reported on GAF’s “Great American Summer”:
The Great American Family network will air eight new movies within the next month, beginning on August 5, as part of the first “Great American Summer.”
“Summer is more than sunshine, adventure and getting a tan. It’s also a time for carefree, heartfelt movies,” the network said in a statement.
Bill Abbott, CEO of Great American Media, told Christian Headlines that three of the movies are Pure Flix originals, following the company’s recent merger with Pure Flix.
“Right away, we want to capitalize on the ability to have content across both platforms,” Abbott said. “… [But] we want to have content that’s differentiated across both platforms, so the experience isn’t exactly a mirror image of one another.”
