Great American Living Channel Rebrands to Focus on Faith-Filled Content

Great American Media will rebrand its Great American Living channel to Great American Faith & Living to provide viewers with more faith-focused content.
“Given the enormously positive reaction from subscribers to Great American Pure Flix and the ongoing growth of Great American Family, now is the perfect time to sharpen our focus on our second linear channel,” CEO Bill Abbott told Deadline. “Great American Faith & Living fills a void in the marketplace, and we are confident viewers will enjoy a strong mix of content that brings the highest quality faith programming in the genre.”
“We feel strongly that the faith category is big enough to have a channel fully dedicated to the genre,” Abbott said. “We are committed to listening to our viewers and are dedicated to creating quality faith and family content that inspires and uplifts.”
The change provides more faith-filled programs and comes after the company’s streaming service recently merged with Sony’s Pure Flix.
“Family-friendly entertainment remains an important segment of the industry, and merging these two entities will create the greatest opportunity to achieve more scale for Pure Flix as it continues to build its subscriber base,” Chairman of Global Television Studios and Corporate Development for Sony Pictures, Ravi Ahuja, commented.
“Bill and the Great American Media team have been successfully leading the Great American Family and Great American Living brands, and we believe they have a winning plan to take Pure Flix to even greater heights,” he added.
Movieguide® reported that the rebranded streaming service is now Great American Pure Flix.
“Great American Pure Flix fits seamlessly with the Great American Media family,” said Abbott. “Our mission is to provide families with quality entertainment that celebrates faith, family, and hometown values wherever and however they enjoy watching.”
“Great American Pure Flix is committed to bringing viewers quality movies and programs that celebrate faith, family, and hometown values,” the platform shared. “You can stream clean anytime, anywhere.”
Movieguide® previously reported on the merge:
Pure Flix, which is Sony’s faith-based streaming platform, recently announced that it will combine forces with one of the fastest-growing networks in TV, Bill Abbott’s Great American Family.
“In a media environment where programming and distribution business models are in a constant state of flux, this agreement provides a rare opportunity to maximize our potential with the expertise, market knowledge and content creation capabilities of a world class partner like Sony Pictures,” Abbott said in a statement.
