Sibling band CAIN shared how God made music their ministry.

“We were 9- and 10-year-old [performing at] trailer park weddings. And it didn’t last very long,” Madison Cain joked of how she and her sister Taylor started performing together.

It wasn’t long before their brother, Logan, joined them in making music. They eventually performed together anywhere they could.

“When I was in college, I was going to just pick a job for the money. I honestly was,” Taylor said. “And my dad called me after he saw us sing together, and he was like, ‘You know what you’re supposed to do.’ He said, ‘Do not pick a job just because it will provide for you, but you do what God’s called you to do.’”

That moment changed the siblings’ lives. Their dad had left his job as an engineer to become a pastor, and in a way, they followed in his footsteps.

Their dad “stayed up late the other night and just sent us all a text of like, ‘I am beyond proud of you, and I can’t believe that you’re doing what we saw in you.’ All the home videos, always singing, always preaching. We are getting to do that. So, they’re just so proud,” Taylor said.

The siblings have made waves with their music, but it started when they were kids. They were homeschooled up until high school, when they would host large Bible studies and invite tons of other students.

“And it was an overflow. We had roughly 70 to 80 kids just fill our living room,” Taylor said. “And it for the first time it wasn’t, oh this is something because it’s what my dad’s doing. We had a chance to say we’re starting something for ourselves.”

“And it was it was amazing,” Madison said. “It’s a huge part of I think high school going so well for us, you know.”

The siblings first sang country and played in bars for five years. They were unfulfilled and took a break. One day when they led a worship service, a music manager was in the crowd who eventually presented their music to a label. The label liked it and gave them a Christian music deal, K-Love reported.

Some of their songs, like “Window’s Down,” include testimonies. The song is about how God saved Logan’s wife, Emily, from addiction. They say that their songs all have divine inspiration.

Madison recalled how their song, “Rise Up” came to be: “So, we are just sitting there. We can’t think of anything…but Taylor, she pulls out a little voice memo that she had recorded…But she was like, ‘Oh, I want to sing something about rise up.’”

“And at the same time, a guy across, he was like, ‘I was thinking about like doing something about rise up and Lazarus,” she said. “And it was like, “Okay, that’s a God connection here.’”

“That’s the thing about God being the creator and the creative process is that the more you try to will yourself to think of something, it doesn’t come. So, you really have to be gifted the song by God,” Madison said.

CAIN is about to embark on their Live & In Color tour on Sept. 25. They’ll be hitting over 30 American cities before they wrap it up on Nov. 23.
